Quality Time
Figure 10-2
Henry is a librarian with a genetic condition that causes him to time travel at random times. He cannot decide when and where he travels to. Henry meets a woman named Clare at the library he works at. Clare already knows Henry is a time traveler. Henry has traveled back to visit Clare when she is younger but he has not reached that point when he meets Clare at the library. Henry falls in love with Clare, who has been in love with Henry for years.
The two of them share a primary love language of quality time. Whenever Henry "visits" Clare in the meadow they give each other undivided attention. Their conversations focus more on quality rather than quantity. These two factors are very important for those who have quality time as their primary love language.

Forgiveness
Figure 10-3
With Henry's condition, he cannot control his time travelling. This causes him to be absent for many events important to his and Clare's relationship. His absence creates a lot of stress for the both of them. Their stress causes them to fight.
Every relationship has troubles. With fights, couples have to face the decision of whether to forgive one another. According to Guerrero, "victims are more likely to grant forgiveness and use positive communication with their partner if (1) the seriousness of the transgression does not prohibit forgiveness and (2) the relationship was of high quality prior to the transgression."18
The true cause of Henry and Clare's fights is his absence. The absence is not serious enough to keep Clare from not forgiving Henry. Henry and Clare have technically been involved with one another for years. They have developed a relationship with a high enough quality that it is easier for Clare to forgive Henry.
